Dalia joined the Pro Bono Department of Sharkawy & Sarhan in 2009.

Her practice focuses on providing legal advice to Egyptian NGOs, foreign NGOs who are working to the benefit of the Egyptian community, social ventures and eligible financially-lacking individuals on various subjects of the law such as NGOs regulations, employment laws, legal compliance, setting up small and medium enterprises, contract and commercial laws.

Dalia carried out several public interest research projects including:

  • Co-authoring the Chapter for Egypt in “Climate Change Legal Liability” book published by Cambridge University Press.
  • Conducted a research on sexual abuse of minors under Egyptian Law for Touche pas à mon enfants (a Moroccan NGO) to strengthen laws protecting young people against sexual abuse.

Dalia also works on developing and operating an Arabic online database in simple Q&A and How-to formats to cater for Egyptian citizens who may not have adequate funds to refer to a lawyer.  She has also worked on general corporate issues.

Dalia has been an incredible support to myself and to the Foundation. We feel very privileged to have her onboard, she certainly feels like part of the team, and I am very appreciative of the time and effort she dedicates to our requests.

Dalia is always a great communicator of her timeframes. She will promptly respond informing me of her having received my email and she then proceeds to provide a date for a response which is most helpful.
